Cup nests are the most recognised form in the bird's nest tradition — a complete, naturally bowl-shaped structure formed at the centre of the nest. This Type 83 selection offers consistent fibre structure, clean appearance, and reliable expansion during soaking and cooking. Once rehydrated the strands expand to approximately 6–8 times their dry volume, yielding a soft, gelatinous texture — generally fuller and more pronounced than smaller cup forms due to the greater strand density of larger nests. Some natural variation in surface texture is normal for this grade, as are minor cracks and gaps.

The large cup form suits shared preparations and celebratory occasions where the richness and volume of the finished dish is the statement.
